Purchasing, Wrecking, Rebuilding Cars License
License Description: Any person engaged in the business of:
- Purchasing or selling used motor vehicle parts or accessories; or
- Engaging in the business of wrecking, salvaging, or dismantling motor vehicles for the purpose of reselling the parts or accessories; or
- Rebuilding wrecked or dismantled vehicles for the purpose of resale
Term: Expires on June 30th
Fee: $10.00 each
Apply for a Purchasing, Wrecking, Rebuilding Cars License
Complete and submit the following to the Vehicle Registration & Licensing Division:
- Application for Business and Occupation Form (State of Hawaiʻi GE Tax No. Required)
- Notarized Application for License(s) to Deal in Used Motor Vehicle Parts or Used Motor Vehicle Accessories; To Engage in the Business of Wrecking, Salving, or Dismantling Motor Vehicles; To Rebuild Motor Vehicles
- $10.00 License Fee for each type - Please make payments payable to: County Director of Finance
Renew a Purchasing, Wrecking, Rebuilding Cars License
A Renewal Letter will be mailed to you prior to the expiration of your license.
Update Business Information
Business License holders must notify the Vehicle Registration & Licensing Division of any changes to:
- Personnel of owners, partners, officers or directors
- Location of offices, or principal place of business
- Any proceeding that is pending for the suspension or revocation of the licensee's existing license
- Contact information
Purchasing, Wrecking & Rebuilding Cars License holders must complete the Application for License(s) to Deal in Used Motor Vehicle Parts or Used Motor Vehicle Accessories; To Engage in the Business of Wrecking, Salvaging, or Dismantling Motor Vehicles; to Rebuild Motor Vehicles if there are any changes to the above mentioned information.
To update all other information, complete and submit the Business License Information Update Form to the Vehicle Registration & Licensing Division.
Note: Licenses are Non-Transferable
Cancel a Purchasing, Wrecking, Rebuilding Cars License
Business License holders must notify the Vehicle Registration & Licensing Division of such fact in writing and return the license for cancellation, under a penalty not to exceed $100 for failure to do so. (HRS, Section 445-9)
