Driver License Office Appointments
Welcome to the Driver's Licensing appointment page.
We are in the process of upgrading to a new and improved appointment scheduling system. As part of this transition, our current scheduler has been closed. You can now book appointments up to 7 days in advance of your desired visit.
If you do not have an appointment, you may visit one of our offices as a walk-in. Walk-in service may be provided on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on availability.
Our Ka'u location is currently closed, no appointments or walk-in services will be available for this location.

Please review the following for scheduling an office appointment:
- Check in 15 minutes prior to your appointment time.
- Your appointment may be cancelled if you arrive 10 minutes or more after your appointment time.
- Limit one transaction per appointment
- Application for Driver's License must be completed, printed, signed, and brought in with you
**Please review the acceptable documents list, you must bring the documents into the office with you to complete the transaction**
REAL ID
The REAL ID enforcement date has been extended to May 7, 2025. You may continue to travel with a credential that is not marked with a "gold star" after October 1, 2021.
OUT OF STATE LICENSE TRANSFER
If your out of state driver's license is expiring, you must make an appointment before the expiration date. If your out of state driver's license is expired, you must apply as a new applicant. A written test and road test will be required.
COMMERCIAL DRIVER'S LICENSE
Commercial Driver's License (Class A, B, C and 4) appointments must be made through the Hilo office or Kona office.
- You will need an in-office appointment to schedule a skill test appointment. A $50 road test fee is required at the time of your in office appointment.
